Fire Investigator & Code Consultant - Mount Vernon/Dallas Area
Eric has over 18 years working full-time for a public fire department in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. He achieved the rank of Captain in 2021. Six of those years were spent in the Fire Marshal’s Office as a Lieutenant and Peace Officer in the Arson Division where he was the lead investigator for structure and vehicle fires within the city. He has investigated hundreds of fires including accidental, criminal, and fatality fires. He has testified in court as an expert witness to the origin and cause of multiple criminal fires as well as participated in civil depositions as to the origin and cause of fires in civil actions. While serving in the Fire Marshal’s Office he also performed fire code inspections and fire protection system acceptance tests. Eric is licensed in Texas & Louisiana.
He now serves as a private fire investigator and is currently employed at S.C. Fire Consulting, Inc. which is licensed in Texas and Louisiana as a private fire investigation/code analysis consulting company, based out of Houston, Texas.
Eric is also an instructor at a college and has taught numerous fire investigator and fire inspector classes over the years. He has extensive training with fire and arson investigations, fire code inspections, plan review, and code compliance.
