Tate Markey brings nearly 30 years of experience in fire investigation, fire prevention, code enforcement, and law enforcement to S.C. Fire Consulting. Based in Kyle, Texas, Tate serves clients throughout the Austin and Central Texas area as a Fire Origin & Cause Investigator and Fire Code Consultant.
Throughout his career, Tate has conducted fire and arson investigations, enforced fire and life-safety codes, performed plan reviews and inspections, collected and managed evidence, conducted in-depth interviews, and prepared comprehensive investigative and code-compliance reports. His experience includes service with the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office, Hays County Fire Marshal’s Office, Tomball Fire Marshal’s Office, Dickinson Fire Marshal’s Office, and the University of Texas Fire Marshal’s Office.
Tate is a licensed Private Investigator in the State of Texas and holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University. His professional credentials include Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), Certified Fire Investigation Instructor (CFII), Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI), Master Fire Inspector, Master Arson Investigator, Master Peace Officer, and Registered Code Enforcement Officer. He has also completed extensive specialized training in fire origin and cause investigation, fire protection systems, fire alarms, building and fire codes, electrical and vehicle fires, evidence collection, hazardous materials, and courtroom testimony.
With decades of field experience spanning both fire investigation and code enforcement, Tate provides S.C. Fire Consulting clients with practical, well-rounded expertise in determining fire origin and cause and evaluating fire and life-safety code issues.
